General Practitioner position available at Mount Compass

The Position
Part time General Practitioner 4-6 sessions

Located in Mount Compass, a small country town, our Medical Centre is expanding and progressive. We have recently moved into brand-new purpose-built premises.

The practice is privately owned and provides high quality healthcare services to the community of Mount Compass and the surrounding regional areas. There are no on-call after hours or Nursing Home obligations associated with this position, although if desired a nursing home round is negotiable.

The General Practitioner would be well supported by our friendly team of staff.


Remuneration
We are a private practice and bulk billing is not routine. We have a large established patient base, and our GPs are employed on an attractive contract basis.


The Practice
We provide a number of specialised services to our patients including iron infusions, venesection, Q-fever vaccination, spirometry. We are also very interested in supporting any special interests our candidate may have. We currently have three part-time GPs and are supported by a friendly team, including a Practice Manager and the equivalent of one full-time Registered Nurse and a Receptionist. We have on-site pathology services, physiotherapy and podiatry services and a variety of specialists visiting the practice, including a General Surgeon and Psychologist. We aim to provide the highest quality holistic care for our patients.

Mount Compass Medical Centre is located on the main Victor Harbor Road, in the new shopping complex.


The Community
Surrounded by incredible scenery, Mount Compass is a close-knit community with a diverse population. We have a mixture of traditional farmers, hobby farmers and young families. Local produce includes wine, olive oil, cheese, blueberries, strawberries milk, beef, eggs and arts and crafts, all available locally. Mount Compass Area School currently caters for approximately 400 students, R-12. The town is mid-way between Victor Harbor and the southern suburbs (twenty minutes each way), with a population of over 2,000 and still growing.
